Colin McKeown MBE
Colin is primarily known as a drama and film producer but has also produced factual, comedy, documentaries and light entertainment programmes. With nearly 50 years experience in the industry, he’s worked pretty much everywhere, on everything.
Colin was one of the founding fathers of Channel 4’s flagship soap ‘Brookside’, alongside Phil Redmond and has enjoyed continued success with the series ‘Liverpool 1’, ‘Thief Takers’, the feature film ‘Liam’ (Ian Hart, dir. Stephen Frears), TV mini-series ‘Faith’ (Michael Gambon) and, for NBC, the biopic ‘In His Life: The John Lennon Story’.
More recently, he has produced or executive-produced 9 series of the acclaimed BBC1 drama ‘Moving On’, plus controversial feature-length dramas ‘Common’ (Nico Mirallegro, dir. David Blair) and ‘Reg’ (Tim Roth, dir. David Blair).
LA Productions’ most recent production, BBC1’s six-part prime-time drama, ‘Broken’, starring Sean Bean, continues to garner critical and audience acclaim.
Producer/Head of Production
Donna is an experienced producer and line producer who has been making consistent and compelling broadcast film and television for over 15 years. Her numerous credits include ‘Reg’ (BBC1), ‘Common’ (BBC1), ‘Moving On’ (BBC1), ‘Stepping Up’ (BBC1) and ‘Ragged’ (SkyArts). She is also the producer of ‘Broken’; LA Productions’ six-part, prime-time drama series starring Sean Bean, which recently aired on BBC1 to critical acclaim.
Sarah works across both Drama and Factual departments, developing new ideas, script-reading new submissions and script-editing current productions.
All submissions should come to her and, ideally, be sent as a PDF or Final Draft document with a cover email detailing any previous writing experience.
Because of the volume of scripts we regularly receive, writers without representation should allow up to 8 weeks for feedback.
As a TV production company, please note that we currently do not accept feature submissions.
LA Factual is the documentary arm of LA Productions. Headed by Christian Francis-Davies, they produce inspiring, compelling and groundbreaking factual and documentary entertainment. Currently in post-production is ‘The Cavern Club: The Beat Goes On’; a 70-mins feature documentary telling the fascinating story of the iconic Liverpool music venue; and ‘The Lost Supercar’, charting the search for the original Lamborghini Miura used in the iconic opening sequence of The Italian Job.
LA Factual have also produced an extensive behind-the-scenes collation of mini-documentaries and interviews to accompany the upcoming brand new BBC1 drama series ‘Broken’, starring Sean Bean.
