Operational Manager, Sinead, begins to ask questions about the circumstances surrounding Alison’s ‘accident’.

It’s Full Moon Friday, when the inmates are granted a little more leniency than usual and hi-jinx ensue, much to the frustration of Brian and fellow prison officer Janine Dolan. Laura sinks into a depression when she finds herself in trouble with Sherri, and not even Chloe can lift her spirits. But Laura’s troubles run much deeper than anyone realises and, as she struggles to find a solution to her woes, she eventually seeks solace in the one thing she knows she cannot control, with terrifying consequences.

In the wake of Laura’s death, the prison board want answers from Governor Darby. Not only that, but Laura’s distraught brother, Lee McDermott, shows up demanding his own answers. Adding to the load, a secret filmer has been recording the various activities going on at the prison – not all of them legal – and putting them online. Devastated by the death of her friend and the news that her trial has been delayed, Chloe goes into labour, while McKeown House welcomes a new guest, deaf thief Heather.

Contrition

Determined to get ‘revenge’ on the place he is convinced killed his sister, Lee McDermott turns up at Bridewell in a digger, and its up to Dominique to try and talk him down. A memorial service for Laura is held in the prison chapel, attended by the McKeown girls and Laura’s feckless mother, Elaine, who tells Dominique she is determined to get (financial) justice for her daughter. As Chloe tries to come to terms with another trauma, inmate Amira Khan endures an emotional visit from a reluctant visitor, and is rocked by a startling revelation.

Reform

Personal secrets and surprising truths are revealed when our girls are visited by a team from Reform; a group of ex-offenders who tour prisons trying to convince inmates to go straight. As Sinead’s suspicions grow over Dominique’s involvment in Alison’s ‘accident’, the reluctant Governor also faces a backlash over plans to introduce tag-boxing into the prison. Sherri gets her own visitor, and it’s someone even more evil than the Queen Bee herself.

Therapy

Sherri is offered a unique kind of therapy to address her mental health issues; therapy which brings out a side of her nobody knew was there. Chloe prepares for her trial, but is terrified of coming face to face with her controlling boyfriend. Heather begins to show an interest in Islam, while Brian resorts to desperate measures in order to cope with his own personal stress. Dominique issues an ultimatum to the recovering Alison – tell the truth about what happened, or she will.

Judgement

Sherri tells the fearsome Maggie that she wants out of the family business, but Maggie has other plans for her little sister. Chloe’s trial has an unexpected outcome, leading to an even more shocking conclusion.

Changes

As Brian falls into an emotional abyss, the McKeown girls are horrified to hear that Chloe has been re-admitted to Bridewell… this time on a murder charge. Alison finally remembers what happened on the day of her accident, which puts Sinead in a very awkward position. Dominique tries to front up Maggie Simms over her treatment of Sherri, but the tables are turned when the crime boss tells the governor something which completely shatters her world. Elsewhere, Brian also receives some crushing news.

Endgame

It’s all hands on deck as the Prison Inspectorate pays a ‘surprise’ visit to BPS Bridewell, not helped by Brian going AWOL. As Dominique tries to keep them occupied, the secret videos become national news and the prison is besieged by press. Sinead tries to locate Brian, but its young Caleb who makes an unsettling discovery, setting the scene for a tense finale where lives hang in the balance.
