Colin McKeown MBE
Colin is primarily known as a drama and film producer but has also produced factual, comedy, documentaries and light entertainment programmes. With nearly 50 years experience in the industry, he’s worked pretty much everywhere, on everything.
Colin was one of the founding fathers of Channel 4’s flagship soap ‘Brookside’, alongside Phil Redmond and has enjoyed continued success with the series ‘Liverpool 1’, ‘Thief Takers’, the feature film ‘Liam’ (Ian Hart, dir. Stephen Frears), TV mini-series ‘Faith’ (Michael Gambon) and, for NBC, the biopic ‘In His Life: The John Lennon Story’.
More recently, he has produced or executive-produced 9 series of the acclaimed BBC1 drama ‘Moving On’, plus controversial feature-length dramas ‘Common’ (Nico Mirallegro, dir. David Blair) and ‘Reg’ (Tim Roth, dir. David Blair).
LA Productions’ most recent production, BBC1’s six-part prime-time drama, ‘Broken’, starring Sean Bean, continues to garner critical and audience acclaim.
Producer/Head of Production
Donna is an experienced producer and line producer who has been making consistent and compelling broadcast film and television for over 15 years. Her numerous credits include ‘Reg’ (BBC1), ‘Common’ (BBC1), ‘Moving On’ (BBC1), ‘Stepping Up’ (BBC1) and ‘Ragged’ (SkyArts). She is also the producer of ‘Broken’; LA Productions’ six-part, prime-time drama series starring Sean Bean, which recently aired on BBC1 to critical acclaim. In 2019, she produced Channel 5Star’s first original drama series, ‘Clink’, as well as Series 11 of ‘Moving On’.
Head of Scripted
Sarah oversees LA’s development slate and is also the Script Editor and a scriptwriter (Moving On, Clink).
From concept to commission, Sarah works with writers to get their scripts to the best place possible, and also sources new writing and originates new series ideas.
Writers with representation, or writers with previous TV credits, should send their scripts to Sarah in the first instance, though both agents and writers are asked to carefully read the Script Submission Guidelines before sending anything through to us. Because we are one of the few production companies who accept unsolicited scripts, the volume of submissions we receive is high. For this reason, it’s essential that the submission guidelines are adhered to, otherwise we can’t guarantee to read your script.
Please note that, as a TV production company, we currently do not accept feature, radio or stage play scripts.
Head of Post
Patrick runs our post-production arm, LA POST, utilising state-of-the-art facilities for both picture and audio. LA POST looks after all of our own projects but is also happy to provide services to external filmmakers and creatives who require cutting edge post-production facilities. Details about how we can help can be found here, or please feel free to email or call.
Tom works alongside the Head of Scripted assisting with script reading, pitch-writing, research and script editing. If you are an uncredited or unrepresented writer, then it is Tom who will likely read your script and feed back (don’t worry, he’s very good).
All writers intending to submit a spec script, should read the Script Submission Guidelines carefully before sending.
